What is the role?
The Director of Media and Marketings’s primary responsibility is managing the strategic account teams for the Media Advantage Program clients at Newswire, reporting directly to the Chief of Marketing as the business unit manager. The Director supports accounts teams in the development of the campaign programs within Newswire’s platforms based on the direction and strategy developed by the Media and Marketing Strategist with the client.
Role and Responsibilities
Strategic leader for account teams consisting of Media Strategist, Campaign Manager and Content Strategists that service 60+ client accounts
Oversee the strategic development and execution of integrated media and marketing strategies by account pod teams, support direction as needed
Analyze team performance reports to ensure KPIs are met and provide feedback as needed
Responsible for client retention, renewal, and business development
Serve as strategic liaison to the Media Strategist to ensure client satisfaction while identifying opportunities for renewals and upgrades
Identify areas of Media Advantage Platform program growth and improvement
Hire & develop a team of account managers, campaign managers, and content strategists
Liaise with internal sales and product stakeholders as well as executive leadership to forecast growth and revenue of the program
Lead and direct high-level press strategy with account team to garner earned media results for Newswire to build client and owned corporate brand portfolio through thought leadership.
Support account teams with media training where needed
Responsible for professional development of account team members, career-pathing and growth planning
Oversee and mentor a team of Media and Marketing Strategists, Campaign Managers and Content Writers.
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related
5-7 years’ experience in public relation, communications, or related integrated marketing
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment
Experience in an agency environment is a plus
Experience managing production, content, projects is a plus
Experience writing press releases and editorial content is a plus
Media relations experience
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
Experience with project and client management management
Experience with data management, campaign analytics and performance insights
Experience managing and developing teams
Experience liaising with internal stakeholders and executive leaders, C-suite
Knowledge of SEO fundamentals
Ability to lead multiple accounts teams with large volume clients, serving as a project strategic directional support
