Editor

Candidate will be responsible for supporting and expanding the company’s sales efforts to existing and prospective clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review each press release to make sure they adhere to Newswire and distribution partner guidelines (e.g. proper source attribution, spelling, punctuation and grammar)
  • Verify that there are no other disqualifying issues (e.g. litigation, publicly traded, libelous, etc.)
  • Correct any minor issues without client interaction (e.g. spelling, grammar)
  • Contact client (email or phone) with any questions/major issue with release
  • Approve, reject or hold releases as appropriate based on above requirements
  • Published Press Releases - managing release requests for edits when a release has already been published/taking necessary steps to removing a release or reissuing
  • Contact distribution partners to notify of any changes/removals
  • Provide phone/email support for Customer Services items related to Editorial
  • Ability to guide customers with potential changes to releases

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent (preferred)
  • Prior editorial experience a plus but not required
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic HTML skills required
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive and Dropbox
