Position Overview


The Director of Marketing reports to the Vice President of Media & Marketing Communications and is responsible for driving the corporate marketing efforts to increase brand awareness for Newswire as the No. 1 option for press release distribution based on customer satisfaction and the best option for media and marketing communications services for small and medium-sized businesses. This role also provides marketing strategy and insights to Newswire’s Media And Marketing Communications clients to help them grow brand awareness, drive website traffic, grow sales opportunities and lower the cost of customer acquisition through the strategic use of earned, paid and owned media channels including Press Release Distribution, SEO, Brand Messaging, Paid Advertising, Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Earned Media, Social Media, Inbound Strategies, Digital Marketing and Lead Generation.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Lead the Newswire Marketing Team - The Director of Marketing leads Newswire’s internal marketing team to drive the corporate marketing strategy day in and day out.
  • Develop client marketing strategy - Working with the larger Media and Marketing Communications team, the Director of Marketing helps develop marketing strategy for clients across several industries including Technology, Healthcare, e-Commerce, B2B Services, Manufacturing & Distribution, and Finance.
  • Facilitate third-party partnerships - To help execute the marketing strategy for Newswire and its clients, the Director of Marketing develops and manages relationships with third-party partners, vendors and consultants related to SEO, Paid Advertising, Website Development, Content Writing, Digital and Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing, Analytics, Lead Generation, e-Commerce and more.
  • Develop content and campaigns - A key aspect of the role is developing content for a variety of platforms and mediums to help increase exposure for the Newswire brand and develop sales and leads. From lead generation content like whitepapers and webinars to thought leadership articles and website copy, the Director of Marketing defines the brand messaging for Newswire and develops and implements integrated campaigns to drive results to achieve its goals.
  • Identify Campaign Optimizations & Opportunities - The Director of Marketing finds opportunities to improve campaign performance by researching competitors and industry trends, analyzing past performance and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare Reports on Marketing Performance - The Director of Marketing measures, tracks and analyzes campaign and marketing performance to identify achievements and goals met as well as to highlight any areas for improvement going forward.
  • Applying Knowledge of Media and Marketing Strategies - Develop integrated media and marketing communications plans alongside a team. Utilize expertise to develop savvy content and campaigns to effectively influence decision-makers to promote their brand with an understanding of how media & marketing communications and its various audiences work.

Qualifications We're Looking For


  • 5+ years of experience in media communications, marketing communications, digital marketing, advertising, content or public relations.
  • A self-starter, energized by challenges not afraid of them
  • Proficient in relevant sales, marketing and productivity tools (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Suite, Salesforce.com, Marketing Automation, Email marketing and tracking platforms, Web alerts/search, Social Media, Excel, Paid Advertising platforms, etc.)
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing campaigns using Paid Advertising, Earned Media, Press Release Distribution, SEO, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Inbound Strategies, Lead Generation, Creative Design and more
  • Extremely strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, extremely organized, analytic and creative
  • Knowledge of AP Style and SEO
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, startup environment

We are in Sarasota, FL, but this position can be remote! Our offices are specially designed to accommodate Agile teams. It is also within walking distance to many local restaurants and even the beach.
