Raw Material Inspection
Acquiring fine raw materials is important for best outcome of the product. For all the casting and foundry works done by Calmet, stringent raw material inspection using various techniques is followed. Some of the raw material inspection methods include usage of immersion spectrometer, sand testing facilities, universal tensile testing machine, usage of image analyzer, online mould checking facilities etc.
Dimensional Inspection
The dimensions of each casting will vary slightly, so castings are specified by setting a range of values that the dimensions can fall within. The dimensions of the casted product are inspected using equipments like co-ordinate measuring machine(CNC-CMM) - Range 1m x 1m, linear measuring machine(LMM) - Range 1m x 1m, profile projector, digital height gauge - range 1m and all kind of inspection gauges and instruments.
Special Inspection
Apart from the above tests Calmet also follows a special inspection module that includes non-destructive test (X-ray), ultrasonic test, DP test, Hydro test, Millipore cleanliness test, static / dynamic balancing etc.
