Cabinet-S-Top Receives 2014 Remodeling Award

Michelle Bortolotto, Senior Designer at Cabinet-S-Top receives National Association of the Remodeling Industry's 2014 Contractor of the Year Award for Kitchen Design

Michelle Bortolotto, Senior Designer with Cabinet-S-Top, receives The National Association of the Remodeling Industry's 2014 Contractor of the Year (CotY) Honorable Mention Award in the Residential Kitchen $30,001-$60,000 category.

Michelle's client is an avid cook and felt her culinary talents were being restricted by her outdated kitchen and confining workspaces. Trapped by a heavy bulkhead and walls that closed in, the cooktop offered an inadequate landing space on either side and made for an awkward, solitary cooking experience. It was important to open up this area and add proper ventilation and lighting to create better workflow with the rest of the kitchen, thus allowing the kitchen to be more interactive and accessible.

The color palette and finishes for the kitchen were selected to bring in character, elegance and charm that compliments the rest of the home. Creamy painted maple cabinets with a contrasting island strike a balance between the refinished floor and new tile backsplash. A custom pot rack was designed to give a statement to the room. The light creamy finishes are punctuated with darker accents that get noticed, like the bridge faucet, the medallion above the range and the cabinet hardware. The homeowner now loves preparing meals for her family in her new kitchen. All of her needs were met with functional and beautiful results, and within budget.
