Bus to Show DJ Competition

TOP ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE PRIZES AND WILL BE ADDED TO BTS ON-BOARD ARTIST ROSTER FOR THE 2014 SEASON.

Bus To Show and New Basics Presents: The 2014 On-Board Artist Auditions

FOR RELEASE ON APRIL 24

For the second year in a row Bust to Show is holding its onboard artist competition on May 10. DJs have fifteen minutes to impress judges while playing on a moving bus. The judges will be some of the biggest promoters and bloggers from the Colorado music industry.

"These are the people you want to be playing in front of," Dustin Huth, Executive Director of Bus to Show, said.

Bus to Show will also be selling wristbands to ride along for the show and to support our local artists. Wristbands will also get you free alcoholic drinks on board, if you're over 21 of course. Artists and Judges are provided with wristbands and free subs from Cheba Hut

There will be three buses relaying from Cheba Hut on the hill to another location, and while one bus is out and about DJs will have time to set up all their equipment. The competition will start at 12 p.m., and all you have to do to compete is show up and sign up for a time slot.

Eighty percent of your score will be determined by the judges, and they will be assessing you based on a variety of criteria from production quality to track selection, to mixing, to performance charisma, to ability to deal with adversity and all the realities that come with playing a bus set. Twenty percent of your score will be based on fan attendance. There will be approximately 20 spots on the bus for your fans. So invite everyone!

Each year, BTS sends hundreds of buses to hundreds of shows with hundreds of on-board performances by DJs and Electronic Music Producers. We like to think of this as DJ Boot Camp, because if you can handle the adversity inherent in performing on a moving venue full of unruly partiers, then stationery venues will be absolute CAKE. Playing regularly throughout a season is also an enormously effective way of earning a following for your work. Many of the industry's most renowned artists have graced the the BTS buses with their music, and we are committed to continuing this legacy.

The On-Board Artist Auditions is an opportunity for up-and-coming electronic music artists to perform in front of an all-star lineup of industry judges.

This event is sponsored by The Basics Fund, Bus to Show, Welling Productions, and Cheba Hut.
