Bump Patrol Opens First Shave Center, Atlanta Home to Headquarters and Prime Market

Two shaving experts -- the international manufacturer of Bump Patrol brand products and The Arena Barbershop -- have joined forces to give men in Atlanta a smooth experience and increased shaving know-how.

ATLANTA (August 25, 2009) -- Two local shaving experts -- the international manufacturer of Bump Patrol brand shaving products and The Arena Barbershop -- have joined forces to give men in Atlanta some much-needed pampering and specialized skin care, all in a sports-like atmosphere. Owners of both companies met while participating in The Black Barbershop Outreach Program and forged an agreement to offer Atlanta's men an exceptional shave service like no other in the city.
Located midtown on Northside Drive, The Arena Barbershop (www.arenabarbershop.com) now features the nation's first Bump Patrol Shave Center (www.bumppatrol.com), where specially trained personal groomers provide facial analyses, face mappings, and a trademark shave created by Bump Patrol's own Master Barber Will Williams. Barbers at the center are particularly equipped to address razor bump problems, using Bump Patrol shaving products and techniques designed to solve and soothe the common, and sometimes painful, skin condition. Separated from the other barber chairs in the shop, the center gives men the opportunity to discuss grooming issues and to receive special treatments in privacy. The customized, upscale shave experience includes warm towels and lather, ingrown extractions, special finishes, and a customized evaluation and shave. After each shave, patrons leave with a Bump Patrol Shave Card, tailored at-home shaving instructions and product samples. Services range in price, from $10 for a facial shave to $40 for a facial and full-head shave.
Barbers who work at the center are required to complete a six-session training course with Williams to learn about Bump Patrol's product line, method of customized face mapping, mechanics, and professional recommendations. During select Fridays and Saturdays in September and October, Williams will provide consultations at Arena, during his ongoing education series with Arena's staff of eight Master Barbers and resident esthetician. Williams, who trains barbers worldwide, is the director of education and product development at M&M Products Company, a pioneer in the ethnic grooming and hair-care industry for more than 35 years and maker of Bump Patrol.
In 2007, M&M revamped Bump Patrol's brand image and vastly increased its distribution to include select retailers, such as Target and Wal-Mart, grocers, major drug stores and barbers throughout the United States, Africa and the Caribbean. Recognized by Barbershop Digest Magazine in its "Best of 2008" list, Bump Patrol consists of two shaving creams and three aftershave treatment formulas: Original, alcohol-free Sensitive, and Extra Strength for severe cases of razor bumps.
