Boston Raises Awareness Of Micro-Preemies With An Evening Of Micro-Tinis

Graham's Foundation's signature fundraiser featuring custom cocktails in miniature is coming to Boston.

Graham's Foundation, a non-profit organization offering practical and emotional support to the parents of infants born before 29 weeks gestation is hosting a one-of-a-kind night out on Thursday, October 13 to raise funds and pay tribute to the moms and dads coping with extreme prematurity. The Boston Micro-Tinis for Micro-Preemies event will take place at the Nine Zero Hotel, where attendees will sip flights of Tito's Handmade Vodka micro-tinis and nibble miniature appetizers while listening to inspiring stories of miracle babies.

"When we create fundraisers, one of our primary goals is always to raise awareness of not only how common prematurity is, but also of just how courageous and dedicated the parents of micro-preemies are," said Nick Hall, who founded Graham's Foundation with his wife Jennifer after they experienced the birth of twins at just 25 weeks before facing the trials of the NICU and the death of one child.

"We are incredibly grateful for the support we continue to receive because it allows us to give what comfort we can to the parents of micro-preemies during what is likely one of the most difficult periods of their lives. Our ongoing series of Micro-Tinis for Micro-Preemies events honors the courage and commitment of the moms and dads who live through the journey of severe prematurity."

Every year 50,000 micro-preemie babies are born in the United States. These babies often require intensive medical care for months, and their parents find themselves dealing with extreme emotions and practical issues that are difficult to overcome.

Sponsors of the Micro-Tinis for Micro-Preemies event include Tito's Handmade Vodka, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and CA Technologies. Tickets can be purchased on the Graham's Foundation web site or via mail by check for $75, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Graham's Foundation.
