Bolton Businesswoman Scoops Regional Award
A Bolton businesswoman has been awarded for her work from home at the Forward Ladies Women in Business awards. Michelle Barrett of Credit Claims Ltd scooped the prize for the Home Based category.
Online, November 27, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Michelle, 41, has helped her business grow to new heights over the past 18 months. This achievement is even more outstanding when the personal loss that she has suffered is taken into consideration.
In May last year, Michelle's younger sister sister Lesley Ann tragically lost her life. She died suddenly from a blood clot at the age of 34. Lesley Ann was the single mother of three young boys at the time of her death.
Despite the responsibility of caring for her own two boys and helping to direct a company; Michelle and her sister Anita, along with the help of their family, took on the guardianship of her sister's three boys.
With the added responsibilities in her home life; Michelle took the opportunity to work primarily from home. This allowed her to combine her personal and professional lives without either of them suffering. Michelle has been able to remain a pillar of strength for both her family and her colleagues.
Michelle explained: "For me it shows that as a working mum - if you have that work/life balance it is achievable to spend quality time with your family whilst being able to run a successful business. Home Based working for me is an absolute necessity otherwise I wouldn't be able to do what I do."
Operations Director Michelle founded Credit Claims Ltd with business partner Ajaz Khan in 2008 with the sole intention of helping consumers who have been mistreated by the UK's major banks and financial institutions. The firm has experience significant growth in the past 12 months, having almost doubled its workload and output.
From the original two person workforce, Credit Claims Ltd now employs 14 staff.
