FASHION DESIGN'S WITH A CARE AND COMPASSION
~THE ART INSTIUTIES & THE HUMANE SOCIETY TEAM UP TO MAKE THE FUTRUE OF FASHION ANIMAL FRIENDLY~

(Vancouver, BC, August 22, 2009) Education is a fundamental human right: Everyone is entitled to it. It is critical to our development as individuals and as societies, and it helps pave the way to a successful and productive future. When we ensure that everyone have access to a rights-based, quality education we create a ripple effect of opportunity that impacts generations to come.
The Humane Society of Canada has been able to work across Canada and in many parts of the world, coming into contact with many dedicated men, women, and children who are striving to create and sustain a truly humane society. If you believe as I do that one person can truly make a difference by force of his or her belief, we will draw inspiration from one another to meet the challenges that lie ahead. Our concerted efforts will represent a powerful moving force for social change. We will add our voice to those of the many other concerned individuals and organizations battling the cruelty, suffering, and indifference that at times threaten to overwhelm our efforts on behalf of animals and the environment.

The Cool VS Cruel fashion show competition educates a future generation of designers enrolled in the art institute's fashion program about the cruelty of the fur industry, and encourages these designers to explore fur-free, animal- friendly fashions as a great alternative. Animal and animal advocates both had a reason to be glad at the annual Cool Vs Cruel fashion design competition, a partnership between The Humane Society and The Art Institute. What makes this competition so great is that it challenges fashion students to create animal-friendly creations that are admired by all. To help celebrate this occasion the Vancouver Art Institute in British Columbia will be hosting this year's annual Cool VS Cruel fashion show. It will be on Thursday September 17th, 2009 from 7:00pm - 9:30pm at The Vancouver Art Institute's Renfrew campus location. No tickets required, entrance is free.
Come join us and enjoy a night of pure entertainment and get to meet the 20 designer's and some of the businesses finest. This will be a night full of excitement, amazing collections, and you'll leave wanting more. This truly is the continuation of something wonderful and exciting, The Art institute and The Humane Society is proud to share this moment with all our supporters and fans that have been by are side from the beginning.

"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different." - Coco Chanel
