Battle of the Badges II is a special event designed to highlight the civil service sector of society. Those who will fight and benefit from this boxing event often go unheralded for their everyday sacrifices to make us all a little safer.
The Boston Athletic Club, 653 Summer Street, South Boston, will host this special competitive event on April 24, 2010. This is the second event in a growing, but respectful rivalry between New England Law Enforcement Officers and New York Fire Department Boxing team members.
Sponsoring this event will put your company name before a potential crowd of more than 2,000 spectators. Your contribution also benefits an official 501(c)(3) Charity: Scientific Social Solutions (www.scientificsocialsolutions.org).
This charity's mission is to develop state of the art programs that address health and safety problems in our society. Once developed and tested the S3 team creates and implements a plan to get the program funded and distributed. They employ a wide range of funding initiatives including grants, cause marketing and event based strategies.
Before a program is added to the S3 portfolio it must be vetted by an independent development committee. The Committee is lead by Professor Emeritus of Forensic Physics John Kwasnoski, a nationally recognized leader in traffic safety.
CRASH! The Science of Collisions, will be the main beneficiary of this event due to its potential positive impact on civil servants like police and fire fighters. This unique and innovative learning program evolved from teaching materials developed by Prof. John Kwasnoski for NHTSA's "Lethal Weapon" training course for prosecutors and law enforcement. The CRASH! Materials use actual motor vehicle homicide files to challenge students to solve a mystery using math and science. The result is improved learning that supports state-mandated testing and a residual safety message that impacts teen driving attitudes through fact-based, hands-on learning.
