Austin Dog Alliance "Fetching Art" Benefit to Auction Work by Local and National Artists

Fetching Art, an auction of artwork by local and national artists, will benefit Austin Dog Alliance programs providing youth and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder with dog-assisted programs that help them learn vital social and job skills.

Art lovers in Central Texas will have the opportunity to pick up some beautiful additions to their art collections and help kids and young adults on the autism spectrum at the same time when the nonprofit Austin Dog Alliance hosts its Fetching Art Fundraising Extravaganza on Saturday, November 2 at its beautiful ranch in Cedar Park.

The Fetching Art benefit will include silent and live auctions of beautiful canvas and jewelry art by local and national artists. Guests will enjoy a performance by students and faculty of the Austin Chamber Music Center, snack on gourmet appetizers and adult spirits, have their caricatures drawn by a professional caricature artist and be entertained by a strolling magician. Fetching Art will be an adults-only event.

Austin Dog Alliance is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization providing youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disabilities with dog-assisted programs that help them reach their full potential. Programs include Applied Behavior Analysis-based group social skill programs and job training for young adults to increase opportunities for becoming self-sufficient.

Fetching Art proceeds will support Alliance programs such as K9 Club - Group Social Skills, a program that uses a dog-assisted curriculum to improve attention levels and teach social skills to children aged six to 15, and the Job Skills Training Program, which provides employment training for young adults with autism or other special needs. The job skills program addresses the social etiquette of finding employment and working, as well as technical skills for jobs in shelters, doggie day care, boarding kennels, grooming facilities, veterinarian offices and other settings.

Fetching Art will take place from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2 at the Alliance's seven-acre ranch located off North 183 at 1321 West New Hope Drive in Cedar Park. Tickets for the benefit are $25 and can be purchased online at www.AustinDogAlliance.org, by calling 512-335-7100 or at the door on the day of the event. Space is limited, so advanced ticket purchases are recommended.
