Asidua Releases IEEE 1588v2 Compliant Extension to WanStaX

Online, December 3, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Asidua, the technology solutions provider, today announced general availability of a further extension to their WanStaX® telecommunications software portfolio, with the release of the company's Precision Time Protocol (PTP) software solution conforming to international standard IEEE-1588v2.

PTP allows devices that are connected to packet-based telecommunications networks to be time synchronised to a very high level of accuracy. This is crucial for mobile backhaul networks based on technologies such as IP and Ethernet.

Asidua's WanStaX software is integrated with PMC®'s flexible and programmable WinPath® mobile backhaul processor family, which is optimised for all-IP networks. The combined solution allows telecommunications equipment manufacturers to develop platforms that meet the exacting requirements of the IEEE standard.
