America's #1 Paleo Physician Dr. Al Sears MD Explains The Dangers of Vegetarianism

Dr. Al Sears MD rejects vegetarianism as an unnatural diet. He explains that a Paleo diet is genetically the way humans are programmed to eat and going against that can cause sickness, a weakened immune system, and many other complications.

America's #1 Paleo physician, Dr. Al Sears, M.D. strongly rejected vegetarianism and veganism as healthy ways of eating. As founder of the Dr. Sears Center For Health And Wellness in Royal Palm Beach, FL, he explained the dangers of a diet that does not include meat. His article, "Your Brain On Vegetables" (http://www.alsearsmd.com/2014/05/your-brain-on-vegetables/) rejects the premise that a vegetarian is more eco-friendly and argues that a vegetarian world would destroy the planet as we know it.

"Eating meat is not the cause of global warning and we cannot save the planet if we stop eating meat.", Dr. Sears explained. "The concept that replacing animals with vegetables is more eco-friendly and "green" is completely backwards. In fact, it is unnatural for our environment."

Avoiding animals as a source of protein increases the dependence upon annual grasses. These are crops like rice, corn, wheat, and soy. These crops devastate the environment far more than roaming animals. The animals complete the circle of life necessary for a healthy environment. They eat grasses, digest the cellulose, and return the nutrients to the soil in the form of excretion.

Without grazing animals plant matter would pile up. Nutrients would be depleted from the soil and soon the soil structure would be destroyed.

"Even if you ignore the ecological disaster a vegetarian world would create, your brain simply cannot live on vegetables alone. I love vegetables. I eat a lot of them every day, but strict vegetarianism is unhealthy for our bodies.", Dr. Sears wrote. "A carnivore cannot survive on cellulose. DHA is the main constituent of cell membranes in the brain. A deficiency of it can weaken the brain's architecture and leave it vulnerable to disease."

DHA is one of the two main components of omega-3, the fatty acid you cannot live without and you cannot make. The best sources of DHA are fish, eggs and beef. Grass fed beef has up to ten times the DHA of grain-fed beef.

"I like to say to each his own and believe people have the right to choose what they do with their lives. But the Vegeterrorists who try to insist that their way is the only way are wrong. Vegetarians would ruin our eco-system while they destroy our health.", Dr. Al Sears stated.
