Africa's Children's Fund Provides Atlanta With a "Taste of the World"

Atlanta-based non-profit teams up with top chefs to raise funds for a great cause. The 11th Annual Taste of the World Gala raises funds to expand Africa's Children's Fund's after school programs in Atlanta and sponsors orphans in Africa.

The 11th Annual Taste of the World Gala is destined to be one of Atlanta's premier fundraising events for 2011. Africa's Children's Fund in conjunction with the United Culinary Chef's Association and the American Culinary Federation presents the Taste of the World on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta from 5pm to 9pm.

International cuisine, cultural performances, and a room filled with 400 of Atlanta's most notable guest will guarantee a night to remember. Over twenty of Atlanta's top chefs and Ms. Evelyn Mims, Mistress of Ceremony and Atlanta & Company Associate Producer, lend their expertise to raise funds for Africa's Children's Fund's after school programs and to sponsor orphans in Africa. The evening will also feature a silent auction and a ceremony to recognize Africa's Children's Fund's 2011 Legacy of Hope recipient, Larry Johnson, Presiding Officer of Dekalb County Board of Commissioners. Johnson will join the prestigious group of past honorees such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Xernona Clayton, and Ann Cramer.

"The mixture of great food and a good cause has been successful for over a decade," says Victor Mbaba, Executive Director of ACF. "We look forward once again to hosting an evening filled with international cuisine, splendid entertainment and humanitarianism."

Helping to lead the fundraising efforts, Arik Airlines, Georgia Power, Hyatt Regency, Procore Solutions, and Publix Supermarkets signed on as sponsors of the 2011 Taste of the World. The tickets for the event are $100 each and tax-deductible for all patrons.
