WHAT: Actress Emily Bergl will work with all-women construction volunteers for Habitat-NYC's annual Women Build on Mothers Day Weekend.

Women volunteers, working alongside future Habitat-NYC homeowner moms, will install Sheetrock in 14 affordable homes for South Bronx families in need.

The 15 volunteers also raised more than $10,000 to help fund construction of these homes.

The annual Women Build, sponsored by Habitat for Humanity - New York City, celebrates the Mothers Day holiday and recognizes the struggles of mothers everywhere.

"I'm building in honor of my Grandmother Joy, who helped build a school in India," said Bergl, who has held many starring roles in movies, TV and theater. A longtime Habitat volunteer, she has helped build homes in Thailand and Malaysia.

VISUALS: All-women volunteers will learn construction skills as they measure, cut and install Sheetrock in 14 Habitat-NYC condominium homes within a 63-unit affordable housing development, working alongside future Habitat-NYC homeowners.

This green building is being developed in partnership with Blue Sea Development Company, a private affordable housing developer, and is the second such "co-development" Habitat project nationally, both led by Habitat-NYC.
