ABB Exhibits Innovation And Integrated Solutions At AUTOMATICA 2012

ABB invites you to visit their stand No 321 in hall B2 at AUTOMATICA in Munich from 22nd - 25th May, 2012

AUTOMATICA is one of the world's largest Automation & Mechatronics events and will take place in the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. For 2012 "Innovation & Solutions" have been adopted as the combined themes of the fair. With these themes in mind ABB will present a range of products, systems & services that are both innovative and provide proven solutions to meet real manufacturing challenges, such as improving working conditions and increasing productivity.

Innovation
At AUTOMATICA ABB will display a comprehensive portfolio of innovative robots including the world famous ABB FlexPicker, for high-speed picking and packing applications, and the award winning ABB dual-arm concept robot for small parts assembly. In addition we have new mid-range robots, the IRB 4600 and new large robot, the IRB 6640

Dual-arm Concept Robot
To meet the flexible and agile production needs often found in the consumer electronics industry, and increasingly in other market sectors, ABB has developed a dual arm assembly robot concept. The intended use for the concept is entirely new - the purpose of the robot is to work with and next to humans. This means that it has to express quite different values from traditional industrial robots. The safety issues are not only physical but psychological. As a seal of approval for the design the robot has won the prestigious red dot "best of the best" award 2011.

The second generation FlexPickerTM robot
With increased speed, higher payload and a smaller footprint, the FlexPickerTM IRB 360 is the "second generation" robot for pick and place applications. At AUTOMATICA it will be playing "at the speed of light", demonstrating its outstanding performance. The IRB 360 comes in clean room versions and a stainless wash down version suitable for open food industries. The robot is IP 69K certified and designed to be cleaned according to industrial methods.

Integrated solutions
Integration is one of the key factors in providing manufacturers with efficient robot-based automation. ABB will exemplify this by showing examples of fully integrated robot systems for a wide range of applications including welding, handling, machine tending, dispensing, painting, assembly and press tending.

An IRB 6640 robot equipped with state of the art computer display technology will demonstrate the full extent of the ABB Robotics integrated solutions capability. There will also be a display of ABB process & application equipment that is purpose designed for integration with ABB robots & robot systems. Also on display will be a range of other Motion Control & Safety products from ABB including motors, drives, PLCs, safety PLCs, safety interlocks & sensors

Innovation in service technologies
Downtime is expensive as any manufacturer will tell you. Every minute of production downtime has financial consequences. But with ABB's service agreement with remote service, future disruptions caused by unplanned stops are prevented. An ABB engineer receives a notification in case of wear or a condition change, and can remotely perform an immediate analysis of the condition. At AUTOMATICA you will be able to witness the ABB Service Intelligence Unit in action LIVE. We will monitor the operation and condition of all robots at the show, but also at a number of other remote locations around the globe.

Meet the robotics industry global experts.
ABB will demonstrate both the depth of its experience, and its extensive know-how, by having a team of international robotics experts available in the booth from over 15 countries. They will be happy to discuss your projects, both current & future, and answer any questions you may have on how industrial robots could benefit your business, and increase your flexibility, productivity, competitiveness and profitability.

Great companies need great people
Last but not least - ABB is recruiting. With energy, drive and a spirit of collaboration, there are no limits to what we can achieve together. Better still, there are no limits on the legacy you can leave while working for ABB. At AUTOMATICA we will have a team professional human resource experts on hand every day to discuss with you current employment and future career opportunities in ABB.
