A Modern Day Priestess Held Captive

Medford, OR - Jodine Turner, local therapist and consecrated priestess, announces the release of her newest novel, Carry on the Flame: Destiny's Call. The author recently inked a two book deal with TAG Publishing.

The series features 17-year-old heroine Sharay Kallah - the next in a long line of priestesses born in modern Glastonbury, England. Says Dee Burks, Editor at TAG Publishing, "We were drawn to the character of Sharay in this story. She really embodies the feeling of frustration and anger many teens can relate to when dealing with situations they perceive to be beyond their control. Her ability to rise up and embrace her heritage and destiny is a journey many young women must travel. The setting of Glastonbury in today's England gives the book a rich texture and magical feel that adds to that drama."

Much of Turner's sense of place comes from her own experience living in Glastonbury
for a time, where she met her husband. That experience adds a tone of reality that elevates the text to something more than your average story. This is also evident in the weaving of the magical, spiritual and everyday lives of the characters as the author is herself a priestess and understands the intense connection we all share to those around us.

Carry on the Flame: Destiny's Call focuses on Sharay's conflict with her evil aunt Phoebe who desperately wants to steal Sharay's fortune and magical powers. To that end, Phoebe arranges for Sharay to be wrongly accused of murder and locked into a psychiatric hospital. In order to find freedom, Sharay must find and embrace her heritage, her powers, and find the key to peace and happiness, for herself and all humankind - love.

Now available worldwide in trade paperback and E-book, Carry on the Flame:
