2nd Annual Kingdom Human Asset Management Summit Opens in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

HR professionals from the region congregate to discuss future strategies for future challenges

Fleming Gulf's 2nd Annual Kingdom Human Asset Management Summit was officially inaugurated today at Novotel Al Anoud, Riyadh by the summit chairman; Ron Thomas, Chief Human Resource & Administrative Officer from Al-Raha Group for Technical Services. With over 70 HR professionals from the region in attendance, discussions on ongoing HR challenges faced in the region and potential roadblocks in the future were deliberated through comprehensive presentations and panel discussions. The primary takeout from the orations and debates were strategies that should be implemented to ensure the HR function not only meets the expectations of the organization but also exceeds those expectations.

Day 1 of the summit saw H.H. Prince Waleed Naser F. Al-Saud, Vice President Corporate Affairs - McDonald's share his success story of McDonald's Saudization experience followed by presentations from Abdallah Al Slaim, Director HR Operations - BAE Systems, Khaled Al Hanaky, Chief Shared Services Officer - ARASCO, Nawaf A. Dhubaib, Head of HR - Philips Electronics Middle East and other leading companies who have successfully implemented breakthrough HR strategies. Day 1 also hosted a special workshop on Building Strategic Change Agility which was lead by Edward K Young, Change Management Leader - SABIC.

Day 2 of the summit will see Dr. Mohamed Moustafa Mahmoud, Executive Director - Madinah Institute For Leadership and Entrepreneurship ( MILE ) advisor to the Minister of Labor, present his papers on Improving Organizational Performance through HR Strategies - The Saudi HR Portal Project followed up by high level panel discussions and presentations from Al-Raha Group for Technical Services, Saudi Aramco, Virgin Mobile, Al Futtaim Group, SIPCO and Eastern province Cement Co before concluding the day with a special workshop on 'The New Realities for HR and Business in Saudi Arabia' that will be conducted by Abdullah Hood, HR Director, AbbVie Saudi Arabia.
