17 Again's Sterling Knight receives one of a kind gift
Actor Sterling Knight who plays Zac Efron son's in the recently released 17 Again was pleased to receive a one-of-a-kind collector clay doll hand-sculpted by Dawn McLeod at a recent Gift Suite in celebration of the Teen Choice Awards.
Online, August 25, 2009 (Newswire.com) - (August 25, 2009 - Studio City, California) Sterling Knight, who plays the son of Zac Efron's character in the recently released 17 Again, was gifted with a one-of-a-kind collector clay doll sculpted by Canadian Dawn McLeod at the recently held Connected Gifting Suite in celebration of the Teen Choice Awards.
"Meeting Sterling Knight was definitely a highlight of the event for me. He was very interested in the process and asked a lot of questions." says McLeod, who also gifted her sculptures to, among others, Days of Our Lives Alina Foley, Wizard's David Deluise, Desperate Housewive's Madison De La Garza and Schuyler Fisk, daughter of Sissy Spacek.
McLeod began sculpting in 2006 after seeing a photo of a clay baby. After much research and acquiring the tools and supplies, McLeod sculpted her own clay baby. The resulting true-to-life look was amazing and her work has now been featured in magazines across the globe.
Her creations are a sellout on e-bay. Recently a four inch baby sold for over five hundred dollars. McLeod also creates custom orders based on baby photos sent to her by her customers. In fact, Renee and Scott Baio offered to send her photos of their daughter, Bailey.
McLeod uses only the best possible products, including high quality mohair for the hair. Thin blue veins are carefully painted onto the skin. Hands and feet are lovingly crafted with individual creases providing a remarkable resemblance to those of an actual baby.
"Often I get attached to my own creations and find it hard to let them go but I know they are going to a loving new home." says McLeod. "My customers are the best! Many of them have become amazing friends to me and faithful supporters of my art."
