With two million unique interactions each day and 3.5 million now signed up, "GMail for voicemail" continues to add both services and users
YouMail, a leading provider of cloud-based enhanced telecommunication services, today announced that it has now answered two billion calls. That cumulative call volume has doubled since July 2011, when the company announced that it had answered one billion calls. YouMail also announced that it has 3.5 million registered users, and two million unique users interacting with the service each day through phone calls, it's Android and iPhone applications, site visits, and other actions.
The announcement of a large growth in users and usage comes as YouMail continues to evolve and plugs more call management features into its core services. Most recently, the company updated its app for iOS with a new feature that allows iPhone users to send one-tap voice messages to any of YouMail's 3.5 million registered users, as well as leave voice memos for themselves. YouMail will be rolling out the same feature for Android users shortly. Earlier this year, YouMail added "voicemail receipts," a text and/or e-mail confirmation to callers, which allowed callers into YouMail to better manage the voice messages they leave and how they appear to call recipients.
"Just as GMail has made email a less frustrating and more intuitive experience for desktop users, YouMail is doing that for voice messaging on the smartphone," said Alex Quilici, YouMail's CEO. "More and more users are not only finding YouMail to be a more comprehensive GMail-like replacement for their stock visual voicemail, but are also finding newer features such as social caller ID, voicemail receipts, one-tap ditching and one-tap messaging to be indispensible real-time call management tools, making YouMail more of a complete, one-stop shop for doing all kinds of communicating without losing the phone number you might have had for decades."
