Wellness-oriented event production company presents hip & holistic social gatherings where families get fit, get centered and get down
November 1, 2013 (Newswire) - After a successful launch this summer at Evolvefest, a yoga festival in Pennsylvania, Wild Smile Family is leaping into the family-friendly social scene in the Big Apple. Wild Smile Family creates public playdates for families with kids ages 3-10 that begin with a group yoga class and turn into a spirited dance party and social hour. In addition, the full-service entertainment company offers custom DJing & VJing services, yoga instruction, organic catering, and all-natural face-painting for private parties, birthday parties, workshops, festivals and more.
Jess M. Jones, the owner, instructor and MC of the enterprise, founded the company to synthesize her interests and experience in yoga, multicultural education, world music and event management. After years of working in A&R for international record labels Putumayo Kids & Putumayo World Music, Jones pursued several certifications in yoga instruction, and then moved into DJing and electronic music production. "Growing up in a lively bilingual & multicultural clan taught me the importance of music and dance in bringing people together. It's a joy for me to pay it forward and create spaces where families strengthen and express their loving connections through movement and play. Every gathering is a celebration of what it means to be a family, to support the healthy growth and authentic expression of every member in every moment," Jones affirms.
At Wild Smile, parents and children alike lose tense frowns and relax tight limbs as they learn calming breaths, help each other balance in partner poses, and then frolic together on the friendliest dance floor in the city. When the beat drops, everyone's invited to socialize or dance while Jones DJs, spinning mashups of hip-hop classics, funk, soul, nursery rhymes, world music, and electronic rhythms with uplifting lyrics. Each Wild Smile event is a different journey, featuring multicultural songs, elements of various yoga traditions, contact improv, qi gong, dance and meditation. "It's one part workshop and one party party, designed to help kids and their caregivers release stress and connect to their bodies, minds, and laughing spirits," says Jones. Wild Smile is also an opportunity for parents to socialize with their friends while everyone gets a healthy workout. In addition, a portion of proceeds are donated to the Tamarindo Foundation to support their community wellness center and yoga classes for families in rural El Salvador.
Wild Smile Family is currently booking special weekend and evening events at yoga studios, venues and festivals around NYC, as well as custom programs for birthday parties and other private events.
