Recently launched Ferguson Facebook app helps users match their preferences with a design style
July 16, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Interior design terms can be confusing to consumers. They are often drawn to a particular style, but do not understand how to best communicate their preferences when starting a new construction or remodel project. Do they prefer the clean lines of modern design or the classic appeal of traditional decor? Or perhaps they fall somewhere in between, which would be best described as transitional.
Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery's new Facebook app helps users identify their personal interior design style. The app prompts users to answer six visual-style questions, ranging from their dream vacation to what type of flowers they would most like to receive in an arrangement. Based on the specific preferences, the app determines which design style the user most identifies with - modern, transitional or traditional - and suggests specific bathroom products that match that particular style.
"It can be overwhelming for many consumers to begin the idea gathering required for a new construction or major remodel project," said Sam Rose, Ferguson's Director of Showrooms. "This fun, simple quiz is a great way for homeowners to start turning their unique vision of the perfect kitchen or bathroom into a reality. Determining their style preference before visiting our showroom allows us to better meet their needs because we're able to direct them to product that specifically suits them."
Users can share their results to their Facebook wall or download them. The app also populates the results page with the address of the closest showroom and provides an option to look up directions. This is the first app Ferguson has created. To get started, visit www.yourstyleyourbathroom.com.
