He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City, NY. He completed his internship at the Cornell Division of Bellevue Hospital in New York, NY and his residency in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, and thereafter his fellowship in Infectious Disease. He received his bachelor’s degree from New York University, where he graduated cum laude.

With over forty years dedicated to medicine, Dr. Geller brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his area of expertise, infectious disease. When asked why he chose this specialty, Dr. Geller​ said:

"I wanted to specialize in infectious disease because I became interested in it when I was a house officer during my residency at Bellevue and North Shore. I have a lot of respect for many of the infectious disease specialists there. I learned a lot from them."

As a thought-leader in his industry, Dr. Geller is currently focused on antibiotic stewardship, the appropriate use of antibiotics, and working to reduce the growing trend of antibiotic resistance. His professional philosophy centers around honest communication with patients to assist them in understanding information vital and necessary to their care. In addition, Dr. Geller is an avid supporter of the therapy dog program at FHN, which he believes adds tremendous support to patients.

​DrGeller currently practices with the FHN healthcare system at their Family Healthcare Center – Burchard Hills and at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois. He also is a Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Geller is a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the American College of Physician Executives. He is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Infectious Disease for both 2014 and 2015.
