An industry leader in app creation has made an update to one of its most popular applications.
July 21, 2014 (Newswire) - There's an old adage that says there's always room for improvement, and thanks to the new update to TouchActionApps LLC's Our Rainbow storybook application, parents will now be able to provide their children with an enhanced, interactive adventure story with audio narration, character voices and coloring pages.
"Our application update has been made for the iPhone/iPad," said Nick Kime, spokesman for TouchActionApps LLC (www.TouchActionApps.com).
Kime explained that Our Rainbow is an interactive kid's book for the iPhone and iPad where children will enjoy reading along with the enthusiastic narrator. Available on itunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/our-rainbow/id522576648?mt=8.
The first book in the series opens with a family of bunnies that decided to have a picnic.
As they begin telling stories they discover one of nature's miracles. There are coloring pages for the story that can easily be saved to the photo album."
"At times the playful rabbits will be interactive with additional audio clips," Kime pointed out, before adding, "The bright colors, cute rabbits, and touch audio sounds will keep your children engaged."
As to the specific update the company made, Kime noted that the update is for iOS 7, the update gives users cleaner navigation, and also empowers users with a single, universal application for the iPhone and iPad.
The application features, according to Kime, include: Read-out-loud audio narration; Educational with a focus on kid's first 100 words; Interactive character voices; Follow along text on screen; Storybook coloring pages, and the ability to save coloring pages to photo album.
The Our Rainbow's update could prove to have perfect timing.
According to a recent study conducted by Nelsen Research, a leading global information and measurement company, which provides market research, insights and data about what people watch and what people buy, more than 57 percent of children use tablets for adventure apps.
In a recent study conducted by PBS, apps have multiple educational benefits for children.
Apps for kids are specifically designed to maximize engagement and keep little ones learning without even realizing they are, the study revealed, before adding that, "with the right apps you are supporting the learning and development of young minds in an entertaining way."
The study concluded that apps also help prepare kids for the future.
"Our Rainbow is a cute storybook application reads the story out loud as kids read along with the text on screen," Kime said. "Children will enjoy the story as an enthusiastic narrator reads the story. This update is great for everyone."
