February 21, 2014 (Newswire) - Stop & Stor is pleased to announce that they are hosting a drive for recycled/used prescription eyeglasses to be donated to the organization, New Eyes for the Needy.
Collection bins are located at Stop & Stor's corporate headquarters at 651 Willowbrook Road, Staten Island New York as well as at their 15 locations citywide. The lobby of the Willowbrook Road location is open to the public during regular business hours therefore the eyeglass collection bin is prominently displayed there providing easy access.
"This is the first time we have been involved in this type of campaign and we believe it is a 'win-win' for all those involved - from our employees, to those who have unnecessary prescription glasses laying around, to the people who so desperately need them, " said Denise Henick of Stop & Stor. "We thought this was a perfect opportunity for our employees and the community to come together and do something hands-on for people who have basic needs."
New Eyes for the Needy empowers children and adults in the United States and overseas with the improved vision they need to pursue a better quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities. One of the ways the organization improves the vision of children and adults in need are by recycling donated glasses for distribution in developing nations worldwide. Since the organization began in 1932, it has improved the eyesight of more than 7,500,000 people in the U.S. and around the world. Visit http://www.new-eyes.org/ for more information.
