Pride Family Brands Reports Strong Preview Market Retailer Response To Collections and Marketing Support

Pride Family Brands announces a strong retailer reaction to its 2014 collections and marketing programs at the conclusion of the recent Casual Furnishings Preview Market.

Within its newly opened showroom on the 15th floor of the Chicago Merchandise Mart, Pride Family Brands hosted a record number of casual furnishings retailers that collectively provided positive feedback to products, programs and individual outdoor trends presented during the three day market.

"A great deal of time, energy and hard work over the past year has gone into creating the products for the markets and when our efforts are met with such positive response as was the case at the Preview Market, it is gratifying to everyone in our organization," Steve Lowsky, president, Pride Family Brands, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

"Meeting design as well as marketing demands of our retailers is our primary goal as they are the reason for all we do from product development to quality construction and customer service." Standouts recognized within the new product introductions included the English Garden Collection that represents the overall craftsmanship of intricate casting and woven aluminum for which Pride has become known. Within the collection's deep seating units, retailers responded positively to the focus on all curved seating and the all-crescent sofa and love seat selections.

The Dumont Collection also received high marks for its integrated design with contemporary and vintage elements. Retailers acknowledged the luxury appeal of the Pride collections and responded to the variety of looks on display this market.

"This year, as with every year, Pride had really unique designs that work," said Garrett Wallace, merchandising manager, Yard Art Patio and Fireplace, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas. "We really liked English Garden at this show. We have seen this Victorian style design in indoor, but this is the first time we have found a true representation of this style for outdoor."

Wallace also was impressed with the new Chateau Collection as well as the new embroidered pillows. He also notes continued appreciation of Pride's attention to detail. "The cast buttons, although introduced last year, continue to provide added value and enhance the overall look of the furniture." Visitors to the Pride showroom were met with five complete collections and nearly 100 individual new items from furnishings to accessories. "Those retailers that took advantage of the Preview Market will be ahead of the game," Lowsky said. All introductions were conceived, developed and constructed over a year-long process that began following the 2012 Casual Market in order to be on display for retailers ready to begin making selections.
