Trump, Cruz, Carson Running Away With Poll Taken at State and County Fairs Nationwide

My Liberty Threads, an American made Conservative themed t shirts brand has decided to take a poll from their t shirt booth at State and County Fairs across the country, and the results are quite interesting.

Scott Miller, owner of My Liberty Threads, has been traveling the country selling his conservative themed t shirts for nearly 5 years.  This summer he has decided to take a poll, right from his t shirt booth, to see where the country stands on the 2016 Presidential Election.

He calls it the Fair Poll, because he’s taking his poll from County and State Fairs in 20+ states.

"The Fair poll echoes the same sentiment that we hear on our program every day. Americans are sick and tired of the same old tired voices in Washington DC. They want a change, and they want it now."

Christopher Hart, Host of the American Adversaries radio program.

While the  results of the first 9 polls are in, and although many of the results mirror other polls, there are a few major exceptions.

-Donald Trump received 44.4% of the total votes, versus 22% in the Real Clear Politics Average Poll.

-Jeb Bush ranks 7th among fairgoers, with only 2.8% of the vote. (10.7% and 2nd place in RCP Average Poll)

-Ted Cruz finished in second place overall, with 13.7% of the vote (compared to 7.3% in the RCP Average Poll), and an impressive top 3 finish in all 9 states.

-Ben Carson has been picking up steam, finishing second to Trump in the 4 states that were polled over the last two weeks.

Miller will be the first to tell you that his poll isn’t as scientific as the others.  He just puts up a sign saying 2016 Presidential Poll, and puts a pen and a stack of post it notes on top of an empty cardboard box with a slit cut into it.  This polling method has collected a total of 791 votes across 9 states since July 15th, and gives us some insight into how the average person walking around at the state and county fair is leaning.  “We have retailers selling at some of the biggest events of 2016, and we’re going to take this poll in every state we sell in, to find out where the public really stands going into this election.” says Miller

My Liberty Threads is able to take polls in multiple states at the same time, because they have retailers all over the country that sell their shirts, hats and car decals at festivals near where they live.

The polls, which have been taken at state fairs in Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois over the last few weeks, are about to get some major exposure.  Over the next 6 weeks, representatives of the My Liberty Threads brand will be selling shirts and taking polls at state fairs in Nebraska, Virginia, Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Utah.  In addition, other My Liberty Threads Retailers will be selling and polling at some of the biggest festivals across the country between now and mid October in Texas, Indiana, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Results of the Fair Poll are updated every Tuesday, and can be found at mylibertythreads.com.

---A few notes about the Fair Poll from Scott Miller:

-Results shown above reflect only the Republican candidates that have received votes.  To see the list of all candidates receiving votes, and the individual state by state results, go to mylibertythreads.com

-The nature of the merchandise being sold at the booth attracts more conservative fairgoers than liberal ones.  Therefore, the overall poll results are slanted heavily towards Republican candidates, and should not be viewed as a ‘general election’ type of poll due to this fact.

-Through the Fair Poll My Liberty Threads is attempting to capture how the average fairgoer across the country feels about the upcoming presidential election.  The polling stations are consistent at each location.  My Liberty Threads is not attempting to affect the outcome of the poll in any way, just to report the numbers.  For this reason, the results will not be as scientific as other polls.  An example of this is the inconsistent number of people polled at each event (hence John Kasich’s overall poll ranking, due to the higher voter participation in Ohio).  For this reason, this poll is best used to get a general idea of where the public stands, other polls may serve better when it comes to analysis and scrutiny.

-The Real Clear Politics average poll mentioned above was chosen because it combines polls from CNN, Fox News, and Rasmussen, and was the poll shown on their website on 8/26/2015, at the time of this release.  It is generally considered to be well accepted by many outlets as a true representation of the public.
