Time To Spring Forward and Give Back

New Transitional Home for Homeless Pregnant and HIV-Affected Teen Girls Requests Support of its "One Million Upcycling Fundraiser" in Preparation for its Grand Opening

The Arnold Place, Inc. (http://www.arnoldplace.org) is a new transitional home devoted to the cause of homeless pregnant teens and troubled young women scheduled to open in Prince George’s County in the Spring, 2015. Arnold Place will serve as a place of serenity, comfort, transformation and hope for girls and young women (ages 14-22) from various Washington DC Metro Area neighborhoods. Its concentration will be on teen girls with AIDS and HIV. Using a customized twelve (12) month curriculum, each resident will receive personal development, guidance and assistance necessary to aid in the transition of their lives. The opportunity to receive counseling, employment assistance, job training, financial and computer literacy are among some of the services which will be made available to them. Even prior to the doors opening, this newly registered 501(c)(3) is making a profound statement in the world of philanthropy. Through its upcycling fundraiser campaign, Arnold Place seeks to obtain the remnants of this season’s spring cleaning to be used to secure the balance remaining for acquisition and renovation prior to its grand opening. Arnold Place values your trash.

Its “One Million” upcycling fundraiser hopes to collect one million pounds of women’s empty plastic containers of hygiene and toiletry products – such as perms, deodorant, shampoo, makeup, lotions, creams and dyes. This becomes a monetary donation back to Arnold Place, by its recycler.  The collection of one million pounds of unwanted clothing and shoes of any gender, any age, any condition (neither for use or sale), serves as an additional source of  monetary donations to Arnold Place, by its recycler.  The recycler, in this trend of upcycling, is committed to transforming discarded items into new, useful and creative ones to meet its corporate global responsibility. As you spring forward, Arnold Place asks that you not trash your unwanted items; instead, allow them to be used to give back.

The visionary of Arnold Place explains - "Our upcycling fundraiser proves to the community that our efforts are genuine - that as a new 501(c)(3), we will be worthy of our upcoming crowdfunding campaign, but for right now - we are diligent in pursuing creative avenues to engage the community; raise awareness of our cause and encourage upcycling."
