The Vantage Co. Volunteers for the Boys & Girls Club

The Vantage Co.'s director of operations and team volunteered time and effort to benefit the Boys & Girls Club. She also cited several personal advantages of giveback.

“On November 24th, The Vantage Co.’s team supported the Boys & Girls Club by assisting the organization with holiday meals,” said the firm’s director of operations. “We cooked turkeys and prepared several dishes for families in the community. We were so thankful to be apart of such a great event, that we can’t wait to giveback for another event!”

The company director was eager to explain why the group wanted to support this cause. She pointed out that in most communities, children are left to their own devices after school and during the weekends. They must find ways to entertain themselves on the streets.

“An increasing number of boys and girls spend time without adult supervision, and they need to know there are people who care about them,” she stated. “That’s exactly what is offered at the Boys & Girls Club. The groups services and programs facilitate their development, and teach them usefulness, competence, influence, and belonging. Of course, it’s a lot of fun too!”

According to the firm’s leader, community giveback is a core part of The Vantage Co.’s culture. Thanks to the team’s participation in a number of fundraising events and volunteer efforts, the company has merged as a leader in the community.

The Vantage Co.’s Director Explains Why Volunteering Is Good for the Giver

“Philanthropic work – whether it involves donating time, money, or anything else – is beneficial to all involved,” continued the company’s director. “For example, it certainly feels good emotionally to help others in meaningful ways, and it impacts physical well-being too. The release of feel-good hormones is linked to better immune system and nervous system functioning.”

Further, volunteering effectively fights depression and reassures people that they’re needed and appreciated. It also allows them to shift perspectives and consider their circumstances in comparison to others’. It enables individuals to bond with people, and develop strong support systems as well.

“It’s also noteworthy that giving back will help you grow as a person,” the firm’s leader concluded. “Each volunteer effort is an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills, face new challenges, and explore countless likes and dislikes. This type of development is incredibly important to us at The Vantage Co., and the fact that we can experience it while making an impact on the world makes it even more special.”
