TEDX Poet Rachel Kann and M87 Team Up on Ground Breaking New Electronic Spoken Word Album the Upward Spiral

Rachel Kann has not only won several awards for her poetry but also teaches at UCLA. When combined with Joshua Newborn a producer off the upcoming record label M87Ent the collaboration is true art. The Upward Spiral is set for release on June 13 of 2015. The dynamic duo started a kickstarter campaign to raise funds for production of the album. The empowering messages in the poetry make this a must listen.

The album was two years in the making, Rachel Kann and Joshua Newborn were introduced at a MOTH poetry slam at The Virgil in Silver Lake CA in 2011. Earlier this year after Joshua had just finished recording a track with Son Doobie of the hip hop group Funkdoobiest, Rachel stopped by his studio in Pasadena California. After three recording sessions the collaboration had birthed an album that is destined to be a classic. The name "The Upward Spiral" stemmed from the positive and empowering messages behind Rachel Kann's poetry, tackling issues such as suicide and feminism. Her intense delivery goes hand in hand with the emotional musical score. The tracks all have variation in style while still making sense collectively as an album. The album set for release on June 13th has already started creating a buzz on the internet. Joshua and Rachel have also created a kickstarter page to raise funds for production of cds. The Upward Spiral will have an impact on the world that we all have been waiting for, one of truth and light. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/623851955/the-upward-spiral-coming-to-fruition-on-6-13-at-11
