The new offering is a data collection and analysis tool intended for the assessment and monitoring of nutritional status of young children and prevention of nutrition related health conditions. The Svaast teams plan to visit schools to record child growth data and assess nutritional status periodically and provide results to the parents and authorized institutions.

Svaast will be the first of its kind- solution for collecting nutrition and  health statistics of the next generation for international developmental analysis.

Svaast will provide comparative growth charts for young children, problem areas and recommendations for doctors and nutritionists in their neighbourhood. It will further share this data with public health departments, hospitals and organisations like developmental Red-Cross, Sick-Kids, etc.

The Need

According to the National Family Healthy Survey (India, 2005-06) 46% of the children under the age three are underweight that is too think for their age and 38.4% are stunted, too short for their age. Further, majority of them don’t have adequate access to free health care and monitoring system and are taken to a doctor only in the event of significant onset of symptoms of a health condition or sickness. Tracking a child's growth against the WHO parameters, Svaast solution will give an opportunity for taking up preventive and remedial measures. Moreover, by providing/ suggesting region and culture specific nutritional alternatives, it plans educate parents about nutrition and inform them about different specialists and services available in their area.

Plans are also in the offing to forward this information to Charities and NGOs’ to help fund a free treatment if a family does not have sufficient resources for their child's treatment. The geographical analysis of data will help the interested public health institutions to design region specific prevention programs for affected territories.
