Spike TV Celebrity Lip Sync Battle Spawns National Search for Best Lip Sync Stars in America for Charity

Thirty years after the hit TV series 'Puttin on the Hits' first debuted, the nationwide search is on once again. The creator of the original 80's show announced today that producers are looking for the very best, lip-sync solo, dual, group and Tribute Bands across America, and it's all for Charity.

“Spike TV” and “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon leads the way, with eighteen Celebrity “Lip Sync Battle” episodes airing this summer, sparking the popularity of lip sync contests once again. The National Search gives ordinary people who can’t sing the chance to be the Rockstar they always wanted to be™ and possibly be discovered.

Show producers are calling on charity organizations, venue operators, club promoters, and radio stations to help host the search. For-profit operators will be given the opportunity to donate a percentage of revenues to their favorite local charity on Grand Final night.

“It’s very exciting, lip sync contests are once again gaining popularity among young adults in schools, clubs, and as fundraisers,” says Wm. Randy Wood, creator of the original show and the driving force behind the 2015 national search. “The competitions are downright fun, and we expect many charities across America to host the search and raise both money and awareness such as Autism”.

Operators will receive (at no charge) a complete kit, including all materials and instructions needed to run competition according to national guidelines. Local celebrity judges and audiences will score contestants on their lip sync ability, use of the microphone, and look-a-like appearance of a famous music artist or group. Winners from each host venue may advance to televised regional and national finals, where the top vote getters representing their cities will be selected by celebrity judges and audience text voting.
