SEDC Unveils AutoCue Solution to Provide Cost-Effective IVR Capabilities for Utilities

In an effort to help utilities communicate with their customers more efficiently, SEDC, a leader in the development of innovative utility software solutions for nearly four decades, announced the launch of its AutoCue Communications Suite earlier this month.

Despite the abundance of “free” distribution channels available today, the need for reliable communication between utilities and their customers is more important now than ever before. SEDC, which is synonymous with improving reliability through its many product solutions, has responded to meet this industry need by introducing its AutoCue Communications Suite.

AutoCue is a fully integrated, self-managed customer communications solution that will deliver SMS, text and email messages to consumers, provide cost-effective Interactive Voice Response (IVR) capability and keep the utility’s costs down.

“Not only is AutoCue a very reliable delivery mechanism for outgoing messages, it’s also a cost-effective solution for incoming communications due to the automation associated with IVR and the reduction of traditional customer service call handling methods,” said Bob Basaraba, SEDC’s director of product strategy. “AutoCue provides utilities with enhanced security features and doesn’t require any extra capital costs, contracts, hardware or software licenses for utilities to integrate the solution.”

Because it’s fully integrated, AutoCue can automatically queue up and deliver messages based on consumer account triggers – such as missing or making a payment, or a prepaid balance falling below a certain threshold – as well as outage and restoration messages being sent from an outage management system (OMS). In a critical outage situation, AutoCue’s automated customer notifications can reduce the strain on utilities’ support teams and allow personnel to focus on restoring service as quickly as possible.
