Rwandan Ambassador Visited LPU

•Met LPU Management officials & all Rwandan Students studying in Punjab

Adding another great name to the list of illustrious visitors to Lovely Professional University from across the world, His Excellency High Commissioner of Rwanda to India Mr Ernest Rwamucyo visited LPU campus. He met top officials of LPU Management, and also interacted with Rwandan Students studying in Punjab. He inspired Rwandan students to imbibe the great Indian culture and the working pattern which has made India one of the best countries in the world. He also asked students to bring good name to both of their native and visiting nations. His Excellency Mr Rwamucyo was also highly impressed with the facilities & education support being provided at LPU to the students of his country.

While addressing students, he said: “I encourage all Rwandan students in India to be in touch with the High Commission for enabling yourself to avail the services we offer to our citizens abroad.” He reminded students, “The global goal of the Government of Rwanda is to improve the well-being of its population. Within this context, our aim of education is to combat ignorance and illiteracy and to provide human resources useful for the socio-economic development of Rwanda through the best education system. I am happy to note that you have been enrolled at LPU for time needed education in the disciplines of Computer Applications, Information Technology, Management, Computer Science & Engineering, Economics and more. Human resource in these fields is of much importance for the ultimate development of Rwanda.”

H E Mr Rwamucyo is dynamic official of versatile experiences and has been Chair and Member of Board of Directors of several public, private enterprises and non-governmental organizations. Prior to his appointment to India, he was High Commissioner of Rwanda to the United Kingdom and Non-Resident Ambassador to Ireland. He has also worked with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York. President of Rwandan students association at LPU campus, an M.Tech CSE student Afrika Habinshuti Prudence told H E Mr. Rwamucyo that all of Rwandan students are getting the best of education at LPU and all of them are also being suitably taken care of. Rwandan students thanked LPU for providing great opportunity to have such a special interaction session.

Welcoming the elite guest at the campus, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said: “Such visits play pivotal role in the lives of the students as they get much motivation through interactions. We have diverse student community at the campus from across India and world. All students work together and progress alike by getting equal chances. I am happy to share that Rwandan students are doing well not only in academics but allied activities also. I wish them to be important assets to their nation and responsible global citizens.”
