Riverpoint Management Discusses Giving Back to the Community

At Riverpoint Management, team building is a significant part of the company's overall business model. One of the team's favorite ways to bond involves giving back to the Three Rivers area. The firm's director of operations explained its importance.

Kelly, Riverpoint Management’s director of operations, explained that everyone benefits from philanthropic efforts. “Giving back to the community in any way, shape, or form is definitely a win-win proposition,” she said. “This is one of the chief reasons why our team is committed to volunteering together. Not only do we gain publicity, but our team members feel great about helping others.”

As Kelly noted, Riverpoint Management’s associates are actively involved in each giveback campaign. “You absolutely have to have full team buy-in in order for your efforts to be successful,” she explained. “It’s much more meaningful when everyone is on board with the cause. Therefore, we solicit ideas from our associates regarding the specific causes and charitable organizations in the area they want to help. Pretty much anything to do with kids, animals, and helping those in need are green lighted.”

"The first step is determining the best way to serve the particular organization,"

“Once we settle on a cause, we vet the recipient organizations carefully,” Kelly added. “It’s important to remember that we are attaching our company name to these groups. We want to be sure that they uphold the same values and operate with the same integrity as we do.”

Riverpoint Management’s Team Describes Goal Setting for Giving Back

Kelly highlighted that once a charitable organization is selected, the Riverpoint Management team sets specific giveback goals. “We treat this effort just like our brand campaigns,” she cited. “As a result, we work toward a clear-cut goal, which makes our collective efforts more efficient.”

“The first step is determining the best way to serve the particular organization,” Kelly said. “For example, are we going to host a fundraiser or manage a goods drive? Does the organization need money or specific items to support its mission? Are we going to donate our time to help with their day-to-day activities or are we going to staff an event?”

“Once we answer these questions, we set a specific, measurable goal, such as how much we want to collect in a specific time frame, or how many hours of service we want to provide,” said Kelly. “We continue to track our objectives and milestones and we encourage each other throughout the program. Once we have achieved our goal, we host a joint celebration.”

Kelly concluded, “From the team-building aspect, to the positive press, to that overall feeling of knowing we’ve made a difference, there are so many benefits to giving back to your community as a team. It’s an experience that stays with you for a long time.”
