Punjab Revenue Minister Suspends Naib Tehsildar on Bribe Charges

Bikram Singh Majithia, today issued instructions to immediately suspend naib Tehsildar Mukhtiar Singh, posted at Guraya, on serious corruption charges leveled against him.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the government said that Majithia took cognizance of the news item published in a section of press where it was alleged that newly appointed naib tensildar had asked money at the time of registering a land and refused to sigh the documents till he received Rs. 5 lakh as bribe money. Besides this the persons came to his office were insulted asked to leave his office without getting the work done. During suspension his headquarter has been fixed at deputy commissioner officer Jallandhar.

Meanwhile, Majithia said that the Punjab government for the last 8 years was working for making Revenue Administration system citizen friendly, corruption free and transparent. He said that the government would not tolerate any misconduct on the part of the government servant whose prime duty was to serve with dedication and mission.
