PowerStone Property Management Earns High Marks From Board Members on Recent Boot Camp

Board Member Boot Camp is designed to give HOA Board Members timely, accurate and useable information to help them lead their associations.

PowerStone Property Management Inc., a full service Orange County, California based property management firm, today announced that a recent event hosted at the Irvine DoubleTree Hotel drew OC HOA Board Members representing PowerStone managed Associations. The seminar featured attorneys Jeffrey A. Beaumont, Esq. and Brittany A. Ketchum, Esq. from law firm Beaumont Gitlin Tashjian.

Cindy Cattern, PowerStone’s Director of Community Relations, organized the event, the 4th in a series entitled Board Member Boot Camp. The educational workshops are geared to HOA Boards and are designed to give Board Members timely, accurate and useable information to help them lead their associations.  Cindy said: “Every time we add a new subject to the series, the interest increases. This last time, we were forced to find larger meeting space and moved it from our office into a local hotel.”

Subjects covered included: Collection Authority, Board Duties, Lien Procedure, Foreclosure Procedures (Judicial or Non-Judicial?), Post Judgment Collection, Effects of Bankruptcy and Bank Foreclosures.

Board Member Bill Bisset of HOA Community Eagle Pointe stated, “The information was presented clearly and it was easy for us to understand, especially the legal implications of Board decisions as we sometimes hit a collection snag. The presentation was also very timely, since the topics discussed were directly related to issues our community is currently experiencing.”

“It’s encouraging to see such a great turnout and positive feedback from our clients. Right now we’re scheduling our next seminar in June. Cindy has done a great job of finding good guest speakers and presenters that can simplify complicated subject matter,” says PowerStone CEO Rene’ Decker.

New Board member, Gordon Mauer of the Brookstone Homeowners Association agrees. “I just joined and I’m amazed at what I’ve learned and really need to learn to do this job well. A Boot Camp like this makes it easy.”

The next presentation will be June 23, 2015.
