PIET Quest- An Event Unique at Panipat Institute Of Engineering and Technology
The transition from April to May was marked by a three day long event titled "PIET QUEST 2K15", which is unique to the Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology. It is a talent hunt activity which is conducted in an organized way through schools and Polytechnic colleges of Haryana and Delhi NCR and continues from October till April.
Panipat, India, May 13, 2015 (Newswire.com) - It is worth mentioning here that PANIPAT INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (PIET) is affiliated to the Kurukshetra University, one of the elite universities of North India, and approved by AICTE, Govt. of India. It is rated the Top Institute of Haryana and Delhi NCR. The vast campus is spread over an area of 16 acres along the NH1 at a stone’s throw from Delhi and Panipat. The location thus is helpful in catering to the needs of rural population to a great extent simultaneously as the area where it is located (Samalkha) is surrounded by more than 80 villages and every village has at least one senior secondary school.
PIET QUEST is not a festival but a talent hunt mission which is carried out in a festive spirit and style. Right from October the faculty teams start co-ordination round with the reputed schools of big cities as well schools at small towns and villages because the talent exists everywhere. The year 2015 has been more successful than all previous years because looking at the pious and fair way this pioneering scholarship program is carried out to stimulate, recognize and reward the latent talents of students in undergraduate colleges, polytechnics and schools in Delhi/NCR and Haryana has been well accepted by the school principals and managements. It is gigantic program which promises Scholarships worth Rs One crore in the form of up to 100% Tuition Fee waiver to the winners. Other prizes and incentives included Laptops, Honda Bikes, Activa scooters & other gadgets like laptops, tablets, mobiles etc. The authenticity of the claims has been proved by the presence of personalities like erstwhile President of India, His Excellency Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who lauded the means and measures involved in successful conduct of this exercise.
Coming back to the current year, this time the first stage test was conducted through 350 schools with 70000 students of class XI and XII and 35 Polytechnic Colleges to 8000 students. We are proud to say that over three days the PIET campus had been luminous with the presence of worthy persons like Lt. Gen. (Dr.) D.D. Sandhu, Vice Chancellor KUK, Sh. P.C. Sharma, former director CBI, Govt. of India, Dr. K.L. Johar, former Vice Chancellor, GJU, Hissar.
It was a matter of great honour for PANIPAT INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY to have as distinguished guest His Excellency Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, The Governor Haryana and Punjab, who said in his address,
“On visiting this institute I felt a sense of pride and satisfaction looking at the facilities provided to students for their uplift, which reflects a spirit of dedication to education on part of the management. I am also exalted to know the quantum of student involvement in this quest touching nearly 80 thousand, which I think should be the biggest event across the country”
While giving away the prizes to the winners he made a special reference to the filtration process through which the last 36 are chosen out of some five thousand who were selected for the second and final rounds. He was all praise for Sh. Hari Om Tayal, Chairman, Sh. Suresh Tayal, Member and Sh. Rakesh Tayal Member BOG for their contribution to the education field by investing all efforts and not just money to enhance the quality of students’ knowledge.
On the final Day Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, IAS, Principal Secretary Technical Education, Haryana too expressed great satisfaction the way PANIPAT INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, which has been awarded by Hon’ble Minister of State, Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Katheria as Best Engineering College IN NORTH INDIA And Best Placement IN NORTH INDIA, is making headway in Haryana and Delhi NCR to reach out to the talented youth with buckets full of scholarships to help those who have the skills but no means. She opined that in coming times this institute would be the best known even beyond boundaries as already students from neighbouring countries like Nepal and Bhutan are a part of it.
The end of PIET QUEST is the beginning of ‘quest’ for students and parents to avail what all is being showered upon for the betterment of future of the country’s youth without distinction of caste, creed or religion.
