Phoenix Events Shares Favorite Career Tips With Students
September is here, which means college students across the country have returned to campus. In the spirit of the new school year, the Phoenix Events team assembled some of their favorite career tips for college students.

Britt started building her client portfolio when she was finishing her last year of college. “First determine your passions in life. These are the activities or areas of interest in which you can easily lose track of time,” Britt suggested. “Ask yourself how you can make a career out of it. Do some research and understand your options. The knowledge you acquire in many disciplines can be applied to a multitude of roles. Use this information to plan your career five to 10 years down the road, or further. ”
“Once you know your path, it’s time to start planning,” Britt shared. “For example, you’ll want to speak with individuals in that field, and gain a complete understanding of the necessary skills and training you’ll need in order to be considered for possible positions. Collaborate with your career planning office and advisors on how to register for the appropriate classes.”

Britt noted that college students are often challenged in finding the practical experience needed to qualify for positions post-graduation. “Internships are some of the best ways to gain hands-on knowledge that will be applicable to your field,” she noted. “Also, if you intern at a few different companies during college, you’ll gain insights into various industries, as well as an understanding of the mechanisms of the field.”
