On Participation of Uzbekistan in "Expo Milano 2015" (Italy)

n accordance with the Presidential decree from December 29, 2014 the work on preparation of the exhibition companies of our country and organization of the National pavilion of Uzbekistan in Italy has been commenced. 

The world exhibition was held for the first time in 1851 in London. Due to its scale and efficiency, it was decided to hold it later in other countries. The prestige of this event is evidenced by the fact that the world-famous Eiffel Tower was built in connection with the world exhibition “Expo Paris 1889” held in Paris. In 1928, Association for world exhibitions – Bureau of international exhibitions was organized in France. Since then, the country in which organized this exhibition is selected by voting. The world exhibition “Expo” held every five years which is continues at least six months. 

It is expected that more than one thousand companies from 150 countries will take part in the forthcoming world exhibition, which will be held under the theme “Feeding the planet, energy for life”. The exhibition will bring together more than 30 million people. The event will cover all the current trends in the economy, agriculture and food industry. Dozens of thematic sections will operate: environmental protection; biodiversity conservation; development of agriculture; security of food production, its storage; innovative production; technologies and others. 

The world exhibition “Expo Milano 2015” will contribute to the popularization of the great economic potential of Uzbekistan, the study of international needs in the food industry, to identify new partners, expanding exports and also the further development of trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation with Italy. 

As reported Ministry of foreign economic relations, investments and trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the institutions of our country, dealing with investment, export-import, providing consulting and transportation services, small business and private entrepreneurship, as well as companies and enterprises in the trade of cotton fiber, the products of light, chemical, textile, pharmaceutical, machine-building, metallurgical, construction industry, agriculture, food products, consumer goods and furniture will attend the international exhibition. In particular, institutions and companies: the Food Industry Association, the Export Support Fund for small business and private entrepreneurship, Uzmarkazimpeks, Uzinterimpeks, Markazsanoateksport, Uzprommashimpeks, Uztadbirkoreksport, Uzvinosanoat-holding, Uzulgurjisavdo invest and Central Asia Trans, Uzbekistan Airways. 

500 square meters allocated for the National pavilion of Uzbekistan at the world exhibition “Expo Milano 2015”. Four sections will be organized in this area – “Economy”, “Agriculture”, “Food industry” and “Culture and national cuisine”. Uzbek pavilion, which will be differ with national flavor, undoubtedly, will attract the attention of exhibitors. 

Exhibitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the rich cultural and historical heritage of our nation, the achievements of the country during the years of independence, economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan, its free economic zones, developed transport infrastructure, harvesting of agricultural production and processing industry, with experience in the fields of crop production, animal husbandry, horticulture, poultry farming, fish farming, modern equipment and technologies, Uzbek national dishes, bakery and confectionery products, customs and traditions of our people.

Seminars and conferences on such topics like improving the quality and safety of food products, a broad introduction of new innovations and technologies to the sphere, promotion of healthy eating will be held in the framework of the international exhibition. 

The world exhibition “Expo Milano 2015” will provide ample opportunities to companies and enterprises in our country to establish trade and economic cooperation with foreign businesses, expansion of existing relationships, reaching agreements on the export of goods and services, investment in our country, the development and implementation of promising projects.
