Oklahoma Technical College Students to Assist with 2015 Leake Auto Auction

Oklahoma Technical College Automotive and Diesel Technology students will be assisting in the LAKE Classic Car Automotive Auction.

The Oklahoma Technical College (OTC) Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology students will be assisting loading and unloading rare classic cars at the Leake Auction Company during the Leake Auto Auction being held at the River Spirit Expo at Expo Square, June 5-7, 2015.

“In the past, our students have really enjoyed working at the Leake Auction. Many of the auctioned cars are those our students have never seen before. This really gives them a good look at another aspect of the car world.  This kind of exposure is fantastic.” stated Tony Muglia, Automotive Technology Department Head.

The Leake Auto Auction was founded by Jim Leake Sr. in 1964 as a way to share his classic car collection, including the largest private collection of Rolls-Royces, Talbot Lagos, Duesenbergs, Packards, Ferrari’s and more, with other car enthusiasts. Due to the success of this auction, The Leake Auction Company now conducts several collector car auctions each year. This auction is described as one of the top five automotive auctions in the United States.

“This is the fourth year for OTC to be involved in the auction and we’re honored to have been invited back. The students are exposed to rare vehicles, are able to network with other automobile enthusiasts, and make some great connections that may help them in their careers.  All while having a great time” stated Jamie Kidder, Campus Director.

The Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology programs at OTC prepare students for entry level employment in the Automotive and Diesel industry. Our instructors are dedicated to ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary academic, vocational and interpersonal skills necessary for a successful and life long career.
