NexusTek Releases the Office of the Future

IT company based out of Colorado released a conceptual view of how the future of the office could look and predictions on how we will work in the future.

NexusTek has made some predictions on what they expect businesses and offices to look like in the future. With conceptual ideas from award-winning concepts, along with predictions from companies and movies, NexusTek compiled a post covering how our offices could look in the near future.

With about 50% of the workforce being the younger generation, or Generation Y, by the year 2020, things are starting to change in the offices around us. Cubicle sales are declining, and office spaces are evolving to be more open to allow for creativity.

The Internet of Things (IoT) will certainly play a big role in how we work and communicate within our office, both with humans and with the devices that we use. Every device in the office will be able to connect to the Internet and speak to each other, helping to automate tasks and increase productivity.

Going green remains an initiative that will probably never go away, and office designs are counting on it as they predict that we will have scalable garden walls that we would be able to use in cities. Our wearable technology would also be able to monitor our personal health metrics more closely, identifying a need for certain nutrients as well as predicting sicknesses. This should help to reduce the number of sick days and increase productivity for employees.

NexusTek, which provides IT support in Denver, also predicts that there will be a lot less business travel thanks to holographic teleconferencing. You will be able to have a live conference call with others around the world by seeing them in 3d in holographic form. This will cut costs on business travel expenses immensely in the long run.

Whether these predictions and concepts turn into reality remains to be seen, but there is no question that as technology evolves so will our work practices and office around us. Especially with the Internet of Things, security will become a huge issue with our cars, devices, homes and everything in between being connected online, leaving more vulnerabilities than ever for hackers to breach those systems.
