New Port Cap Closed Systems Offer Safe Hplc Waste Collection In The Lab

CP Lab Safety's new CLOSED HPLC WASTE SYSTEMS meet the needs of lab workers and help generators of hazardous liquid waste comply with various regulations

CP Lab Safety, a Novato, CA-based laboratory safety products manufacturer and supplier, announces the release of ten new closed waste container systems. These waste containment systems feature a multi-ported cap, primary waste container and compliant secondary containment, bundled together as one convenient product.

Port Cap Systems were developed to meet the needs of lab workers and help chemical handlers comply with various regulations pertaining to open waste containers and the temporary storage of hazardous liquid waste. These closed systems prevent leakage and evaporation of hazardous fumes from open waste containers in the lab and safely contain waste until it is disposed of properly.

"Our new Port Cap Systems will simplify the whole process of creating a closed system for scientists and EH&S professionals. We expect this to be a very popular new item."

Kelly Farhangi, President & CEO

Multiple HPLC lines can be attached to a single vessel, which can also be outfitted with air inlet or outlet valves to prevent an internal vacuum, while keeping chemicals and fumes safely contained. Specific adapters are available which allow various standard tubing sizes to attach securely to the screw cap insert, which is designed to spin freely until tightened to prevent the tangling of waste lines. Plugs for each port are included with each system. Specialized carbon filters can be ordered to fit larger size systems (9 to 20 liters).

Containers in the new product line range from 2 liters, aimed at small waste generators, up to 20 liters for larger waste generators. Replacement containers and other components can be ordered separately, and as needed, to reduce overall maintenance costs.

ABOUT CP LAB SAFETY

CP Lab Safety aims to reduce chemical emissions into the environment through the manufacture and distribution of laboratory and industrial safety equipment to leading pharmaceutical, biotech, academic and government laboratories worldwide. As the developer and patent holder of the innovative Safety ECO Funnel®, the company was started by an organic chemist with the primary objective of improving health and safety standards within the laboratory environment and to encourage safe handling of chemicals by scientists and lab workers. Dr. Ron Najafi invented both the Safety ECO Funnel® and the Benchtop Solid Waste Container® to solve the problem of chemically-contaminated air, allowing both liquid and solid wastes to be safely, simply, and economically contained within the lab.

CP Lab Safety is a licensed distributor of Justrite®, Eagle®, and Nalgene® products, as well as other top industry brands, in addition to carrying their own ECO Funnel® and Solid Waste containment systems.
