Julia Graeser Joins Barg Coffin

Julia R. Graeser has joined Barg Coffin Lewis & Trapp, LLP as an associate and member of its Environmental Law and Litigation practice.

“We are excited to add Julia to our team. Her deep background in environmental law makes her a natural fit for the firm,” said R. Morgan Gilhuly, managing partner of Barg Coffin.

Graeser joins Barg Coffin from the Oakland, Calif. office of Meyers Nave Riback Silver & Wilson, PC. She counsels clients and litigates matters related to environmental and land use issues. Graeser has extensive trial experience, having represented a major transit agency in a bifurcated bench and jury trial, which resulted in a multi-million dollar verdict favorable for her clients.

A graduate of the University of California Hastings College of Law (J.D., 2013) and Indiana University (B.A., 2009), Graeser served as a post-graduate fellow in the Oakland City Attorney’s Office. There, she helped rewrite local California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regulations to ensure consistency with state law and municipal codes. Graeser also has spent time as an extern for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) – Environmental and Natural Resources Division. Among other activities at the DOJ, she helped draft consent decrees and complaints in furtherance of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) enforcement actions.

Active in the legal community, Graeser is a member of the State Bar of California, the Bar Association of San Francisco and Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF).

Barg Coffin Lewis & Trapp, LLP is a San Francisco-based law firm providing nationally recognized expertise in environmental law and litigation.
