Immediately following the Red Carpet Reception, the evening’s screenings will begin at 7:30pm. Highlighting the evening, is a showing of the trailer for the film When Voices Meet: One Divided Country; One United Choir; One Courageous Journey followed by a performance by Sharon Katz and the Peace Train accompanied by the Golden Door Charter School Children’s Choir under the direction of Mr. Francis Quilang (3044 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ Ph: 201-795-4400).  When Nelson Mandela was finally released from prison, courageous South African musicians broke through Apartheid’s barriers to form a 500-voice, multiracial children’s choir. Threatened with bombs and thwarted at every turn, they prevailed and railroaded across the country aboard The Peace Train to become Mandela’s face of the new rainbow nation. The entire film can be seen on Sunday, October 18th at Mana Contemporary from 1:45pm to 3:30pm followed by a Q & A session with Marilyn Cohen and Sharon Katz. Admission is free for this block of films on 10/18 at Mana Contemporary.
