#HR22 Hire More Heroes Bill Does Not Require Hiring of Vets; Denies Women Veterans Private Healthcare

#HR22 "Hire More Heroes" Facts: Is not a hiring bill, instead it amends the tax code for employers to deny military veterans private employer-subsidized health insurance. Designation could have affect on American citizens as "employee" counts fall below 50-person + ACA mandates. Changing tax code to reclassify veterans denies equal protection.

Women's groups want answers from Congress as to how a bipartisan effort to reclassify military veterans as non-persons and deny their families private healthcare coverage was able to quietly pass the U.S. House unanimously even though it will affect millions of citizens.

The bill, #HR22, is marketed by the House of Representatives as "Hire More Heroes," but it does not require the hiring of heroes in order for businesses to take advantage of the tax code amendment, and dates back to eligibility since December 31, 2013.

According to an Associated Press review of VA internal documents, inspector general reports and interviews, "About 140 of the 920 community-based clinics serving veterans in rural areas do not have a designated women's health provider, despite the goal that every clinic would have one."

Text: "under this paragraph for any month, an individual shall not be taken into account as an employee...if such individual has medical coverage  determined by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, in coordination with the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary.''.

The bill will affect thousands of women veterans who continue to struggle with lack of qualified VA care options for women.

The Senate has included #HR22 on its legislative calendar.
