Google Educators Group Training Workshop for Udgam School Teachers

The Google Educators Group (GEG) conducted a training session for teachers of Udgam School which approximately 200 teachers attended. Google Educator Groups (GEGs) are communities of educators who learn, share, and inspire each other to meet the needs of their students through technology solutions, both in the classroom and beyond.

Learn. Share. Inspire. Empower. These four words represent the essence of GEGs. Educators will build relationships with other educators and gain the necessary skills to use open technology to deliver the best possible education to their students.

In Udgam School each and every teacher has a laptop and this training will enable them to use the laptop in the most useful manner. The workshop will enable the Udgam teachers to not only to disseminate the learning to other educators but also use in their classroom teaching on a regular basis. The resource person introduced the teachers to Google Apps and gave them indepth practical knowledge of Google as a search engine, Chrome as a browser and the knowhow to use Google spreadsheets, documents to share and edit, forms for generating response sheets, slides, maps, drive for cloud storage, YouTube for videos and Google Plus for community sharing. 

Udgam School is one of the oldest schools in Ahmedabad and makes an ambient use of innovation and tradition. Technology is an integral part of the school administration and classroom teaching. Paperless communication is strongly advocated here. Teachers are trained to resort to the use of technology in the classrooms through smartboards.
