GBA Elects and Installs Officers and Seven Directors to its Board

Jackson McConnell, president and CEO of Pinnacle Bank in Elberton, GA, is the new Chairman of the state banking trade association.

Members of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) recently elected and installed officers for the 2015-2016 fiscal year and installed nine new members to its board of directors.

L. Jackson McConneII, president and CEO, Pinnacle Bank, Elberton, was installed as the 126th Chairman of the Georgia Bankers Association. Members elected Richard E. Drews, Chief Executive Officer, Century Bank of Georgia, Cartersville, as Chairman-Elect, and H. Palmer Proctor, President, Fidelity Bank, Atlanta, as Vice Chairman.

We're all committed to working together so that our industry remains the cornerstone of serving the financial needs of Georgians and that our association remains the valued resource our members have counted on since 1892."

The new GBA board members, elected by their peers or appointed to At Large positions to begin two-year terms, are:

  • Group 2: Ty Turner, president and CEO, The Commercial Bank, a division of Synovus, Thomasville
  • Group 4: Chuck Copeland, president and CEO, First National Bank of Griffin
  • Group 6: Doug Wren, executive vice president and CLO, Persons Banking Company
  • Group 10: Mike Sale, president and CEO, The Commercial Bank, Crawford
  • At Large: Kim Wilson, chief executive officer, Bank of Early, Blakely
  • At Large: Mike Odom, chief executive officer, Citizens Bank & Trust Company, Eastman
  • Leadership GBA Representative: Susan Keigans, executive vice president, Planters and Citizens Bank, Camilla.
