For Stock And After Market Skylights, The Skylight Cricket

The Skylight Cricket is a cheap, quick, and effective way to prevent occlusion and disintegration problems.

For those who want a cheap, quick, and effective way to prevent occlusion and disintegration problems associated with stock and after market skylight models, the Skylight Cricket is the answer. The Skylight Cricket is a metal cap that fits the frame of a skylight and prevents debris, water, and snow build-up which can eventually cause leakage. Televised test marketing has been completed indicating an exceptional consumer interest in the Skylight Cricket.

The Patent Pending Skylight Cricket was invented by Laddie Redmon of Baltimore, MD, who said, “The Skylight Cricket is constructed as a cap to fit over top of a skylight at the upper edge of the incline. It has a peaked triangular body along the section which is positioned directly above the skylight's upper horizontal margin. On either side, there are long, thin flanges which recede down along the vertically-set edges of the skylight to the bottom. These flanges serve a dual purpose, both holding the cap in place overtop of the skylight itself and also channeling down all the rain, sleet, snow, and other precipitation which are cast off by the device's upper peak. The downward flow of precipitation along the side of the roof towards the top of the skylight is divided and diverted around the skylight itself. This prevents the development of pooling and a constantly recirculation wave-front along the upper horizontal edge of the skylight when the elements are descending. This pooling and waveform action along the skylight's leading edge are the primary contributors to the development of leaks, molding, and general cosmetic occlusion.”

The inventor added, “Using the Skylight Cricket is incredibly easy and once installed, it is a cheap, quick, and effective way to prevent the most commonly occurring occlusion and disintegration problems traditionally associated with stock and aftermarket skylight models. It does this reliably, year-in and year-out, through multiple seasonal cycles of every type of inclement weather, while all the time maintaining a perfect view of the sky.”
